Great piece! VR growth is reminiscent of podcast growth so far. In podcasts, everyone was looking for the exponential moment, but growth has just plugged along consistently and linearly over the years (data here: https://riverside.fm/blog/podcast-statistics).
Will be interesting to see whether VR/AR has an exponential moment, or whether it will plug along like podcasts have. Podcasts don't have much network effects, while VR/AR does -- which suggests that when there is a killer low-cost headset and/or a viral social game, we might actually see an exponential moment.
